Mary Brown is a Principal at Realize 2050. Prior to joining Realize in early 2025 she oversaw cleantech-related grantmaking and strategic partnerships for Wells Fargo, managing a $5M annual budget focused on innovative, equity-centered approaches to accelerating the energy transition. Mary transformed the bank’s signature $50M Innovation Incubator (IN²) program in partnership with NREL, expanding it to help startups and adopters tackle implementation and scaling barriers, and built a new partnership with NYSERDA via the $10M Empire Technology Prize, a high-profile effort to decarbonize space heating in New York’s tall buildings, with a focus on multi-family affordable housing. She also created the bank’s first climate education series, empowering colleagues to more confidently engage clients on financeable energy transition opportunities. Mary started her career in management consulting, supporting healthcare and utility clients on complex implementation initiatives. Mary is a proud Coloradan and Board Member of Colorado Cleantech Industries Association, and she graduated from Davidson College with a B.A. in English Literature.
